About Me

Alanna Askew is a process-driven ceramic artist whose work captures the fleeting and often overlooked through material exploration, wild-foraged clay, and an embrace of the unknown.

A series of abstract sculptures made from various natural materials, arranged in a line on a white shelf against a plain white wall.

Alanna Askew

Alanna Askew is a ceramic artist based on Dharawal Country whose practice centres on capturing the fleeting and often overlooked. Working with wild-foraged materials and elemental processes, she embraces experimentation, material agency, and the unknown. Her hand-built forms emerge through a deeply process-based approach, allowing clay, pigment, and firing to shape the outcome as much as the artist herself. Through this collaboration with site and material, Alanna creates sculptural works that hold traces of transience, inviting viewers to slow down and notice the subtle shifts that define the natural world.
