Who we are
Creative Workshops by Made Askew
At Made Askew, we believe every child is an artist. Our workshops are designed to nurture creativity, confidence and curiosity through hands‑on, process‑based art experiences. Led by Alanna Askew, ceramic artist, mother and qualified primary school teacher, our programs offer a warm and welcoming space where young makers can explore materials, follow their ideas and discover their own artistic voice.
We focus on process over product, encouraging children to experiment, take risks and enjoy the sensory richness of clay, paint, colour, texture and mixed media. Each session is thoughtfully designed to balance open‑ended exploration with the development of fundamental art skills, helping children build both creative confidence and technical understanding.
Our approach is grounded in Reggio‑inspired, inquiry‑based learning. We honour children as capable and imaginative thinkers and create environments that invite them to wonder, play and make meaning through materials. Whether they are sculpting with clay, mixing colours, building with wire or experimenting with printmaking, children are supported to make choices, solve problems and express themselves freely.
We welcome children, families and adults into a community where creativity is celebrated, mess is embraced and every maker is encouraged to explore, imagine and create with confidence.
Made Askew is where creativity takes shape, one curious maker at a time.
